Tenley started working stockdogs the way most people do….being told or, more often, yelled at by instructors and clinicians telling her to make her dogs stop, down, turn, slow down, etc. while they ran in a frenzy around stock but she was not given the tools or methods to insert herself into that situation to accomplish even the simplest task.  Working dogs was an exercise in frustration and anger.
